Academic background

Felicia is a Founding Member of the Centre for Sustainable Finance (CSF) and a Teaching Fellow at the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy (CISD), both at SOAS, University of London. In addition to her on-campus teaching for the Global Energy and Climate Policy MSc, Felicia leads CISD’s online teaching on the Finance, Sustainability and Climate Change module and is one of the co-convenors of the SOAS Sustainable Finance and Climate Change Summer School.

In 2013, she completed the MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy at SOAS, for which she received a Distinction. She also holds a BA and an MA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Bristol.

She delivered two papers at the Earth System Governance conference in Japan:
  • Deploying private capital through the Green Climate Fund: the effective mitigation of investor risk (with Harald Heubaum, 2013), Conference paper for Earth System Governance Conference, Japan
  • Cities and public-private partnerships in multi-level climate governance: Identifying new approaches and opportunities (with Harald Heubaum, 2013). Conference paper for Earth System Governance Conference, Japan​
Areas of academic research interest include the use of ecosystem theory to address failures in the international climate finance system, the role of cities as significant levers in the effective deployment of climate change policy, the role of industry in addressing climate challenges, as well as the role of technology in managing, mitigating and adapting to, climate change.
